American Studies

We’re glad you’re interested in the American Studies Program! There are a number of ways to learn more about the Program. Before the academic year begins proper, we take part in the Academic Directions Fair (formerly the Major/Minor Fair) sponsored by the College. The fair usually occurs in mid-September, the week before the fall term and academic year officially begin. We also have an informational meeting annually in the winter quarter where we, in addition to talking about the character and feel of the Program, discuss practical matters such as the application process, course selection, and the senior research project. Prospective majors are also welcome to stop by the office to meet with the director at any point throughout the academic year. And, perhaps equally important, prospective majors can speak with current majors and faculty about their experiences in the Program. Back to top
